Within the past two weeks, I've been to two Nats games. Next week I'll be there again. Hearing that, you might think I'm a huge baseball fan--but if you know me, you'd find it more accurate that I have yet to truly watch a full inning this summer.
I love the atmosphere of being at a baseball game. And at Nats Park, there's baseball for the best of us, but for the rest of us, there's a lot more going on! Outside of hanging out with friends, eating, and people-watching (my favorite baseball game activities), I've collected a bunch of other cool things you can do at Nats Park this year.
Yoga in the Outfield
June 23 and August 18, post game
Buy a special game day ticket and then join your fellow yogis in on the field for a 45-minute yoga session after the game. All participants get to use and take home a Nats yoga mat, too!
The Congressional Baseball Game for Charity
June 26 @ 7:05pm
OK, technically this is baseball...but is it really?? Watch the Democrat and Republican teams--all made up of acting Senators and Representatives--duke it out/relive/live their glory days on the baseball field. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go to (nonpartisan) charities.
Crab Feast on the Field
July 16, 6-10pm
Maryland takes over Washington in a crab feast on the field. Eat crabs and sides, take a picture in the dugout, and bring home a koozie and crab mallet.
Topgolf CRUSH
August 22-25, tee times range from 8:30am-11pm
Play Topgolf--except from the awesome venue of Nats Park. You can hit balls, eat, and drink--and at night, the targets on the field will glow. Apparently when your ball hits a target, it will display a light show and sound effect. Pretty cool!
Pups in the Park
September 13 @ 7:05pm and September 28 @ 4:05pm
Bring your dog to a baseball game...because why not?
Stitch and Pitch
September 28 @ 4:05pm
Sit in a section with other fans of knitting, cross-stitch, crochet, etc. as you watch the game. I'm assuming you bring your current project along. So random--love it.
Faith Day
September 28 @ 4:05pm
After you've watched some baseball and stitched your heart out, stay after the game for a celebration of faith with local churches and groups.
Enchant Christmas
November 22- December 29
"The world's largest Christmas light maze and market" is coming to Nats Park. Um, sounds magical, count me in!!
*EVENTS AT THE BULLPEN
OK, The Bullpen is technically right outside Nats Park, but these events are worth a mention:
Truckeroo
6/28, 7/19, 8/2, 8/23, 9/20
No tickets required; event info here
Truckeroo is a DC classic. Hang out with your friends as you choose food and drinks from a swarm of food trucks parked inside the Bullpen.
White Ford Bronco Concert
July 12, doors @ 6pm
Another DC classic. White Ford Bronco is the uncontested greatest 90s cover band of our city.
Free Food & Drinks for Chase Card Holders
September 3 & 25
No tickets required; event info here
Yes, you read that right. Free food and drinks before the game if you have a Chase credit or debit card.
Enjoy!!
